I am from a western country but my decent is Asian so I have light brown skin color. I like the idea of meeting a good Ukrainian or Russian wife but unsure if I am just wasting my time because my dark skin color is considered bad?

I read in the news about people of dark skin getting bashed to death if the come to Russia and Ukraine? Does this happen often and influence girls opinion of Asian decent guy?
